About

Carla Nerelli, Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Licensed Acupuncturist

Dr. Carla Nerelli holds both a Master’s of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine, as well as a Doctorate degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the esteemed Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, CA.  She is currently licensed to practice acupuncture and Oriental Medicine by the California Acupuncture Board.

After living in San Diego for 12 years, Carla Nerelli returned to her home in San Luis Obispo to open SLO Family Acupuncture. She enjoys the smaller community San Luis Obispo has to offer and with the goal of owning a family centered practice, Carla could not be happier to be sharing a space with Dr. Erin Parsons at San Luis Obispo Chiropractic Center. Dr. Erin and Carla both share the same intention of bringing health and wellness to San Luis Obispo County through acupuncture, chiropractic care, and integrative medicine.

Prior to attending Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, Carla received a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development at UCSD. It was during this time, studying the intricacies of human nature, that she discovered her passion for how the mind and body work together both in sickness and in health. It also came to light that one’s lifestyle and external surroundings (including, but not limited to one’s family, community, friends, and career) can all play large parts in creating and sustaining, or destroying, one’s health.

A multi-disciplinary approach is emphasized with regard to her patient’s symptoms, diet, lifestyle, and environment. Each patient is treated with the most effective modality to ensure efficacy and achieve long lasting results. Carla assists each patient with an open mind, compassion, and dedication. She helps each patient discover and understand what is uniquely occurring within his or her body so that balance and harmony may be brought back into their lives.
